Ecuador is located on the northwestern side of South America and is bordered by Colombia to the north, by Peru to the south and east, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. Ecuador gets its name from the fact that it is crossed by the Equatorial Line.The Andes mountain range crosses Ecuador dividing It into three regions: coast, hihgland and Amazon, also in the Pacific Ocean are located the Galapagos Islands.

The capital of Ecuador is Quito, this cosmopolitan city was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1979.Historic Quito is the oldest and best preserved colonial sector in South America. Quito has amazing churchs and pieces of art.

Guayaquil is the main port of the country and the economic capital of Ecuador.






The Galapagos Islands are the most important site fot tourism in Ecuador, there are a lot of diversite of species of flora and fauna. Here are the biggest land turtles in the world.

Cuenca is the most beautiful city in Ecuador, is situated in the southern Andes, His historical Centre was declared Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 1999 because preserve their original street plan since the colonial time. His people is friendly and there are alot of place to visit such as ruins, churchs, museums, markets. You can see a lot of buildings that preserve his republic architecture, so Cuenca is known by his rivers Tomebamba, Yanuncay, Tarqui and Machangara that have their origin in the Cajas National Park.
